Diamante element and studs seem to be a bit interchangeable this season, as both are tiny, but appearing in abundance on our shoes and accessories. I like it this way, and think they can be a great asset to an evening outfit if used sparingly and on one item only.
Take these t-bar sandals from Redherring, for example. The sparkly panel at the front would provide all the glamour you need in your outfit, and would turn an average LBD into one part of a great party ensemble. Best of all, these shoes are a steal!

If you like your footwear to surpass 'fabulous' and hit the dizzy heights of 'extraordinary', boy have we picked out a style for you. Lanvin's cut-out python 'boots' look like they're not long off the python with their tubular, slinky shape, and scaly texture, and they really are a dazzling shade of emerald green.
Everyone's talking Lanvin today, as the brand officially announced its forthcoming partnership with H&M, so if these shoes make you go "ooh!" but the price makes you go "ow", then it's only a matter of waiting till November (the 23rd, we're told) for the hotly-anticipated and affordable items to hit the shelves. We can't wait to see what kind of footwear they'll be selling on the high street...

Aldo has introduced a new category on its website this seaon: "shooties" somewhere between a shoe-boot and a bootie, these are a little higher than both, with shoe-like trappings such as peep-toes and skinny heels (at least that's how I understood the definition!)
Odd neologisms aside, I rather like this style. 'Norkus' is a military-chic boot that can be worn folded over as shown here, or further up the ankle for a more imposing look. It's available in black, khaki and taupe, and if you can get over the peep-toes in winter thing, should do you proud in coming months.

This is one of those product images that really doesn't do the actual shoe any justice. It's not until you see this Chelsea Court from Peacocks in the pink version that you notice how interesting the cut and shape of it really is.
The shoe is cut away deeper at the heel than at the front of the shoe, creating an asymmetrical look.
Like them? You can buy them direct from
Peacocks online for just £20.
There's a bit of a theme today for cosy socks and hoisery today, rather than actual shoes. I'm sure anyone currently residing in the UK can understand this, given the appalling summer we've had and the rainy autumn we're looking ahead to. Hardly the kind of weather for bare legs.
This thick knit legwarmer is from a selection from Kurt Geiger in a number of muted colours. I love the idea of pulling them on on a Sunday afternoon when things get a little chilly.
They're available in black, brown and grey, and they're yours for £25 from Kurt Geiger online.

Another season brings another pair of faux suspender tights from kooky designer House of Holland. These ones are a little more detailed than last season's offering, with an intricate design on the top of the 'suspenders'.
While I love the design, I'm still smarting from laddering last season's tights before I even had a chance to wear them. Painting your nails and pulling on fresh tights is an extremely bad idea.
If you like them though and you're more careful, you can buy them from
ASOS for £12.
Would you wear faux suspenders? Are you a tights, hold ups or suspenders fan?
Feathers on shoes are not a design featutre I've ever really warmed to, I have to admit. Feathers on clothing, yes, in small doses. Feathers on hats, hell yes. But the one place feathers should never be seen is on the feet. Even birds don't have feathers on their feet, and to wear them on a human foot is an abomination.
No shoe has ever illustrated that point to me quite as luridly as this odd creation from ASOS Black, however. The fluffy embellishments on these courts look far more like manky chicken feathers than stylish plumes, and it all reminds me of a bad easter bonnet. Do Not Want!
