Zandra Rhodes is taking her next step after her collection for M&S by launching a footwear line for Strutt Couture. The legendary British designer has unveiled a bright capsule range of slashed le and laser cut-out leather booties and heels that will launch for spring/summer 2010.
"It was particularly exciting designing this collection because I haven't designed shoes in so long and I believe that it's shoes that finish an outfit - we are now more aware of footwear than ever before," she said.
Just like her pink hair, Zandra has created a pair of acid pink slashed booties (pictured), which will retail for £160. Stay glued to www.struttcouture.com for more details.

After reading Red Carpet Fashion Blog's post about Christine Centenera, Harper's Bazaar Australia's uber-stylish fashion editor, my eyes were immediately drawn to her shoes. Captured by StockholmStreetStyle, the Aussie looked fab in a pair of powder blue Givenchy studded zip sandals which she teamed with a grey marl ensemble. Now you too can get your hands on these eye-catching Givenchy sandals for €1125 at Luisa Via Roma.
It isn't too much of a surprise but one of the first celebs to sport a pair of Alexander McQueen's crazy S/S 2010 shoes is Lady Gaga.
The always-dramatic popstrel dons a pair of the 10-inch monsters in the new music video for Bad Romance. As I said, it doesn't come as a total shock considering Gaga collaborated with the designer on his Paris show, providing the catwalk track which ultimately sent McQueen's live stream into chaos after her fans crashed SHOWstudio.com.
(Catch Gaga's video after the jump...)
But it was one of "our" own scenesters who was brave enough to wear the shoes in public... and on the red carpet no less!

Not even the blustery wet weather could put off thousands of fashion fans who queued up to get their hands on the new Jimmy Choo for H&M collection early Saturday morning.
Eager shoppers lined up in front of H&M's flagship store in Regent Street from 8.30am. The doors opened at 9am to cheers and applause, and once inside crowds raced down the escalators to the store's basement where the collection's shoes and bags were grouped together.

Heads up Rupert Sanderson fans! We've got a sneak peek at the designer's spring/summer 2010 collection for you right behind this link and I strongly suggest you check it out to get an idea of the sensational styles we can expect come spring.
They include 'Defender' in black and gold, pictured right, a style that will positively sizzle in bright sunshine. There are more traditional springlike colours to be lusted over here too though, including coral, amber leopard and aqua. Hot to trot!

It's always good to see what Balenciaga are doing with their footwear (even if you'll never afford a pair) because they seem to be so influencial it's possible to predict entire trends based on their latest offerings. But this is one I can't see becoming too mainstream any time soon. Stingray? You'd better believe it.
The beige stingray section, which looks soft and kind of bobbly, sits at the two straps at the front of the shoe and at the three ankle straps at the top.

I'm all for designers going out on their own, but Stella' McCartney's range really stands out as being the dullest collection we've seen for spring/summer 2010 yet. Cork wedges in uninspiring styles look orthopedic and grannyish whether in neutral tones or primary brights, and don't even look particularly comfortable with their oddly skinny straps.
With such an emphasis from other designers on crazy styling, unusual fabrics and challenging the norm, I have to admit I'm really surprised by the mundanity of this range. Where are the mind-bending heels, the fun textures and the embellishments?

I'll be honest: I'm disappointed. I own Stella McCartney footwear and am not usually a critic, but she really needs to inject some of the playfulness and fun of her current collection into this very underwhelming range.
