Forzieri herringbone wool & velvet pumps

forzieri.jpgGet ready for grown-up Autumn dressing with these classic herringbone pumps from Forzieri. The contrasting black panels bring the look up to date, but seen close up, they've got a fabulously detailed velvet bow ornament on the toes, which really add to that look of 40s vintage glamour.

Soft leather ballet pumps at La Redoute

la redoute pumps.jpgI love the simplicity of these soft leather flats by La Redoute, available in three easily matchable shades for easy yet stylish everyday wearing.

The shoes have a super-comfy foam-backed leather lining, with an inner sock for additional comfort when you just want to jump into your pumps. Best of all, they just have that certain je ne sais quoi that French labels seem to pull off so well, of not looking frumpy or grannyish despite essentially being low-cost, flat shoes. £27 at La Redoute

Loeffler Randall Clover Scales Pump

loeffler11919194_teal.jpg There is something luxurious about jewel coloured suede shoes, and these Loeffler Randall Clover Scales Pumps are no exception. Cut to show off your foot to perfection, they feature scale like detail across the vamp of the shoe. To enhance the detailing, the underside of the pleating has been lined with patent leather. Just don't forget to treat these shoes with a few sprays of a suede protector so it doesn't stain easily when it comes in contact with liquids. It's way too pretty (and expensive at $425) to ruin.

Ferragamo who? Nicole Kidman sticks with RM Williams, thanks!

nicolekidman_rmwilliamsboots.jpgYou have probably heard the stories about Nicole Kidman commissioning Salvatore Ferragamo to design all her shoes for her role in the upcoming flick, Australia. (If not then read all about it on CQ).

But off-set, it looks as though the actress prefers to stick to more home-grown labels, namely RM Williams. She was spotted shopping with hubby, Keith Urban, in Sydney this week wearing a pair of the trusty bush boots with brown skinny trousers and leather jacket.

Nicole's preference are the 'Durak' boots, selling for AUS$359.95 online. Although an Australian heritage brand, RM Williams is available in the U.K. and U.S. (click here for more info). Check them out and starting thinking Aussie outback to get ahead of trend-set.

Chloe's white raised leaf ankle boots

chloe-raised-leaf-ankle-boo.jpgThe very words "white stiletto ankle boots" are enough to strike fear into my beating heart, so although I like the style of these ones by Chloe, I'd like them a whole lot more if they were a more wearable colour. I'm also having a hard time imagining these holding up against the UK's winter weather (or its summer weather, come to think of it), and can't help but think they'd be a very dirty white indeed after just a couple of wears!

On the plus side, the delicate leaves on these are interesting, and very appropriate for the coming autumn, and if you're not worried about getting them dirty, could be a nice statement boot for special occasions.

Sequin covered ballet flats by Barratts

silver-ballet-flats.jpg

This winter is going to be the season of the flat, and Barratts clearly know it, releasing these sequin covered ballet flats just so we don't have to go without the glitz, even if we're going without the heels. These are also available in black, and at £18 they're a lot cheaper than most "party" heels you find. I'd probably wear them around the house, too - well, why not, if they're comfortable and pretty? Get them here.
