Christian Cota launches flat boot collection for Aldo

Model

New York designer Christian Cota is a bit of a legend of practical, laid back chic, and these qualities are certainly reflected in his highly wearable new collection for Aldo. It’s the first time that Cota has taken his talents to the high street in this way, so fans of his style should definitely check out the collection, which launched in NYC earlier this week.

Tough, functional and oozing style, the boots are the ideal winter wardrobe companion.

Cota is one designer who is clued in about what women feel most comfortable wearing, so his styles are a great day-to-day choice. He even chose to have his NYFW models wear flats on the runway after noticing how much more confident they were in his flat boots:

“I also made stilettos for the show, but I ended up showing much more of the flats because I liked what the models would become,” Cota said. “They would try on the stilettos, and they’d walk, but with the boots they took on this attitude–it was amazing. They were super cool, confident, and it changed their whole postures. And that was the look I was going for, so it was perfect.”

Here are some more styles from the collection, which includes high-octane, colour contrast biker boots:
