Trainer Tuesday: Nike and Liberty shoes

So many of our readers were inspired by the last batch of Liberty Print Nike trainers featured on the site that for today’s Trainer Tuesday we wanted to bring you the newest editions that have burst on to the scene for spring. Covered with gorgeous shades of primrose, bluebell and red, they are both sporty and oozing with Brit chic – the ideal combination for any shoe in this year of patriotic fitness!

These shoes are just so beautifully decorated with the lovely heritage pattern that I can imagine they’d appeal to even those shoe purists who wouldn’t be seen dead in trainers of any sort – least of all the most obvious example of the Nike running shoe. The prints are all taken from original Liberty patterns, and give a very British edge to this all-American brand.

The Nike X Liberty ‘University Gold’ free 5.0 trainers pictured above are available exlusive from Liberty’s at £90 – quite a reasonable price for such a limited-edition style, we thought. We’ve raved enough about the style of these shoes, but on a more practical level these are some of the most hi-tech trainers you could buy, benefiting from Nike’s celebrated Free technology: this innovation has an outsole featuring reverse flex grooves, which gives the wearer an impression of barefoot running.

Check out the full collection here, including a capsule range of other sportswear pieces including hoodies, racer-back vests, baseball jackets and shorts, all of which have been given the unmistakable Liberty touch.
