Shoes to wear at weddings

Wedding season is now about to hit fever pitch, and if you’re of a certain age, the chances are you’ll be called upon to be a wedding guest at least once in the next few months. Picking footwear is often left till last in the process of putting together an outfit when friends are getting married, but with so many beautiful styles on offer this season we think you should ensure you put equal thought into choosing the perfect shoes – after all, a dodgy pair of heels can often completely ruin a dressed-up look.

Gone are the days when ladies had the choice of plain nude heels or flats (though plenty of those are currently on offer, I should add!). As stuffy etiquette rules have been thrown out of the window by many modern couples, dress codes have relaxed a bit and as long as you’re looking your best, you can be a bit more adventurous with your choice of accessories. Remember also that wedding-friendly shoes can be expensive – so you should never buy a pair you wouldn’t want to wear to another formal event.

We’ve picked out the best and most trend-led sandals, heels and pumps for anyone planning on dressing up to the nines in summer 2013, taking in high street and designer names to suit all tastes and budgets.
