Lady Gaga wears Minna Parikka’s amazing ‘Bugs’ pumps

Minna Parikka has been a firm favourite of ours ever since we first spied her beautiful shoes in a London boutique a couple of years ago so it was great to see her creations gracing the feet of Lady Gaga earlier this week. Gaga has been wearing the adorable, cartoon-covered ‘Bugs’ pumps pictured above while performing on her European tour.

This particular shoe is taken from a collaborative project between Parikka and artist Jani Leinonen: an art installation filled with corporate mascots and shoes. Every one of the cartoon characters – from Hello Kitty to Tony the Tiger – has been used to sell a product at some point in its animated life.

Parikka and Leinonen said of the shoes: “The 3 styles of shoes are all numbered and signed in series of 25. ‘They are art and we can not control what do you do with them, frame them or wear them!” Clearly, Lady Gaga decided they were just too good to frame. We think they look incredible worn over her fishnet tights!

Of course, Ms. Parikka already has a bit of a history with Lady Gaga, since she designed the unique shoe-shaped statuettes presented to the singer when she accepted the double-platinum award for “The Fame Monster” album in Helsinki back in 2010.

If you love Minna Parikka’s style and would like to see more pieces from her collection, check out her shopping site for all current style. You can also browse and buy her current collection over at Sarenza with prices starting at £182.
