      It could be Runners knee.

Remember the “RICE” motto: i.e. Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate. You can do this before your physio appointment.

Good luck, hope all goes well.

I think you should see someone, either the out of hours or your doctor, whichever you prefer… I don’t think you are being a drama queen.

No experience of this myself but my colleague did his.

He found that loads of ice and cold therapy really helped in the early days (similar to treating a horses tendon injury I guess). I lent him my horses Bonner Ice Bandage (he used it over a towel so he didn’t get freezer burns) which is old but still works well and his doctor was impressed at how quickly he’d got the initial inflammation down.

His doctor said that if he was a women he’d recommend wearing the highest pair of shoes to reduce the tension on the Achilles but realized that wouldn’t be so easy for a man!

Another fan of hydrotherapy here. I was screamed at by an NHS physio for not walking properly when I couldn’t physically have done it anyway. She then tried to straighten my leg by leaning on my knee I ended up going for private sessions to a physio with a pool, and she was fabulous. Hard work and it hurt, but she fixed me.
